Thoroughly test and recruit a new high performance motivated sales team all on one day.

The Interview Process Day (IP Day)
A better way to recruit
Success Moves Sales started running what we now call IP Days in March 2008. Since then we have placed over 10,000 sales people.  In fact, many people we placed as trainees are today clients.

The process is simple, although there are many highly efficient processes to make it cost effective and efficient in delivering results.
Say you want to recruit between 2 to 12 sales people to add to your team to fuel expansion. Sales and profit growth.  Well, before the IP Day you had a choice to use recruitment agencies or recruit directly.

Recruiting directly very rarely works. If it did the recruitment industry would not even exist.
So most choose agencies. As agencies only charge per appointment on a contingency contract you use several.  They send you CVs and talk you into interviewing them.  You spend half an hour each interviewing 20 to pick one.  You do all the recruitment and then they charge you for it.  What most do not realise is that a £6,000 fee amongst 6 agencies is only a £1,000 deal.  And only one in six on average make it to end of first year with an employer. So, they go for speed and mass send CVs to multiple employers to make it more worthwhile. Not in your best interest. And you still pay for a fully professional service.
The IP Day works quite differently, it is 10X more efficient, greater value and still cheaper per hire.

We take the brief and mass market through our automated system to trawl in a large group of applicants.  We filter, and those passing the first test are invited to a hotel for our Interview Process Day.  We will send all applicants a detailed job description.  This job description will give them recommended reading and pre-interview preparation tasks. We ask them to confirm attendance.  We know that on average even having confirmed only half will show up, the better half. To get a group of 15 we target 40+ confirmations.  All interviewees are processed on one day.  No drip feed over weeks of people coming in to see you once, then back again. No wasted time on ‘no shows’.

A Typical IP Day
10:30 am Registration
It starts before we start.  Applicants arrive to register.  They must sign a disclaimer to behave respectfully, confidentially and honestly.  Whilst waiting to start we observe how they behave.  Who can mingle with others naturally?  Who are the leaders?

11:00 am. Presentation by Success Moves Consultant
We talk for 30 minutes to the group about the role, the company, the job.  We focus on the sales job pressures.  We paint a realistic picture and talk about the work, talking of constant rejection, commitment until success is achieved.  We put off the weak and those who are thinking of trying their best. This saves you considerable time repeating the same message to everyone that arrives at your office for interview.
We then break for 10 minutes and invite anyone to drop out.

11:45 am Personal Presentations
Each person is invited to make a up to 1-minute presentation at the front, “why we should pick them”.  We (and you) will be observing at the back of the room.  We will see their confidence, (although interview nerves can be a positive thing), clarity of communication, persuasiveness, personality and how well they have listened to the previous talk and can use it in theirs.  We have an assessment form and mark them out of 10.

12:45 am Team Leadership
Depending on your product we have exercises where they must in a team present as a group and sell to the audience.  We immediately see the strong leaders when we ask them to form into 5 groups of their own choice.
Following the five-team presentation we score them, add up the two assessments so far and decide on rejections. The Success Moves presenter will announce the rejections.  This will be the second time the group size is reduced.
Those that remain are feeling good whilst aware that the competition is increasing.
We take a half an hour lunch break

2:30 pm Sales Training followed by Presentations
We give a basic sales training related to your product.  Following this we put all applicants in a circle.  We invite them one by one to enter the centre of the circle and pitch a product that we give them. No sales, they are out.  They must do the whole sales process. Get attention, rapport, identity someone with a need, open, objection handle, close. We also look for creativity, energy, passion and determination to succeed.
Following this exercise, we again reduce the group size.
You now have an elite group of people, winners, who have proved that they can sell against competition.

4:00 pm Individual Interviews.
We consider all that has happened so far as the first interview.  We now have a select motivated group who want to pass to the last stage and win the offer.  We interview them one by one.

5:00 pm Offers and Acceptances.
You make with our advice final offer and starting decisions.  We verify their identity, give them instructions on where and when to start work. We give you their CV, references etc.
You have your new team.

FAQs:
Where does Success Moves get candidates from?
Our own databases from previous contacts.
LinkedIn.  Including our own personal networks and followers.
Job board and CV database marketing.  As a bulk buyer and recruitment business we pay considerably less than retail prices. We publish on optimum days/times and with keywords.  We place multiple headings to match the variety of search criterion candidates use.
Actually on our internal training there are 31 sources of candidates.

What guarantee do I get that new people stay?
We charge 20% recruitment fees with a £3,000 advance to fund the day (credited fully against recruitment fees). We guarantee 3 calendar months service or we will replace at our expense. In fact the thoroughness of or testing ensure that ‘drop outs’ are kept to a minimum.

Why should I use this system rather than a recruitment agency?
We do all the interviewing and processing.
We set up candidates better for your opportunity.
We save you considerable time.
We only talk to candidates about your opportunity.
Despite doing far more, we cost less.
We thoroughly assess their skills, attitude, personality and goals.
What if I do not get the minimum people at and from the event?
We repeat the event.

Can you include selling exercises using my products?
Yes, included in the price.
Can I choose the hotel venue?
No. We have designated contracted hotels covering each area of the country.  There are many requirements. Most hotels would not match our quality, service, location requirements. Certain location, like airport hotels attract better quality candidates.

Can you run an IP Day for just 1 person or senior people?
Yes, called The Executive IPDay. Please ask for a proposal.

Can you recruit for ‘commission only’ or remote workers?
Yes.

Can you recruit a team abroad with UK and local staff?
Yes.

Can you recruit in other areas than sales?
Yes.

Do I have to attend?
Normally, yes, to observe the candidates through all the role plays and make final offer decisions.  We have a special service if for example you are abroad.

Can I see an IP Day before deciding?
No. To attend another client’s event would break their confidentiality and produce conflicts of interest.
